Meet Latrice Wynne
A professional background shaped by education, service, and a commitment to mental health.
Latrice Wynne, MEd, LPC, is a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Wynne & Associates Counseling, LLC. Originally from Gary, Indiana, Latrice moved to Houston in 2000 after receiving a full athletic scholarship to Texas Southern University, where she competed in cross country and track and field.
Her experience as a student-athlete helped shape an appreciation for perseverance, discipline, and the importance of support during demanding periods of life. At Texas Southern University, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counseling, establishing the academic foundation for her professional career.
Latrice's work in mental health has included supporting adolescents, adults, and families experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, addiction-related concerns, and other significant life stressors. Her clinical interests include helping people understand how past experiences influence present emotions, beliefs, and behaviors.
Through Wynne & Associates Counseling, Latrice brings together clinical knowledge and an individualized approach to treatment. She works collaboratively with clients to identify their concerns, establish realistic goals, and develop skills that can support healthier decisions and greater emotional stability.
Beyond her clinical background, Latrice's history of community involvement reflects a longstanding interest in service and personal development. Her experience includes participation in campus organizations and youth and young adult leadership during her time at Texas Southern University.
Latrice recognizes that people enter counseling with different histories, expectations, and definitions of progress. Her priority is to understand those differences and provide care that respects each client's circumstances, strengths, and goals.
Our Philosophy of Care
Mental health care should recognize the complexity of each person's life rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis or a single challenge.
At Wynne & Associates Counseling, the therapeutic relationship is built through trust, open communication, and mutual respect. We seek to create an environment where clients can discuss difficult experiences without feeling defined by them.
Treatment is guided by each client's needs and goals, with attention to building useful skills, increasing self-awareness, and supporting sustainable progress.
Listening With Intention
Understanding concerns and experiences before determining a path forward.
Individualized Treatment
Developing a counseling plan that reflects personal goals, strengths, and circumstances.
Progress Beyond Sessions
Building strategies clients can apply to relationships, decisions, and everyday challenges.
An Informed Approach to Therapy
Latrice draws from established therapeutic methods to help clients better understand their experiences and develop practical responses to emotional and behavioral challenges. The methods used depend on each client's needs and treatment goals.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT explores the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It can help clients recognize unhelpful patterns and develop more constructive ways of responding to challenges.
Cognitive Processing Therapy
CPT is a structured, trauma-focused approach that helps clients examine beliefs connected to traumatic experiences and work toward more balanced interpretations of what occurred.
Person-Centered Counseling
This collaborative approach emphasizes empathy, respect, and client participation, helping individuals explore their concerns and make decisions consistent with their own values and priorities.
Education & Professional Background
Latrice's professional preparation combines academic study in psychology and counseling with direct experience serving clients across different stages of life.
